We're pleased to announce that Red Hat CEO Jim Whitehurst has been recognized by the Triangle Business Journal as one of the winners of the publication's inaugural CEO of the Year Awards. Whitehurst was recognized for helping “drive the Triangle's success” and helping to make the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, N.C. area “a prominent place to work and live.”
The 20 award recipients were determined based on peer recognition, with some of the top CEOs in the Research Triangle area voting.
The award comes on the heels of the release of Whitehurst's new management book, The Open Organization: Igniting Passion and Performance. The book is a blueprint for managing an open and agile company in today's ultra-fast environment. Whitehurst wrote the book to share his experiences to help business leaders and others looking to better understand the management model behind Red Hat’s success.
