Features and benefits

An automation execution environment is a container image used to execute Ansible Playbooks and roles. Automation execution environments provide a defined, consistent, and portable way to build and distribute your automation environment between development and production.

Standardize how automation is deployed, initiated, delegated, and audited. The automation controller allows users to define, operate, and scale automation across their enterprise. Manage inventory, launch and schedule workflows, track changes, and integrate into reporting, all from a centralized user interface and REST API. The automation controller now features the automation topology viewer, which can graphically visualize even the most complex automation topologies—including hop, execution, hybrid, and control nodes—across multiple sites.

Automation mesh provides a simple, flexible, and reliable way to scale automation of large inventories across diverse network topologies, platforms and regions. Automation mesh provides flexible design options to build resilient and fault-tolerant architectures while providing enhanced security to standardize and normalize automation across your entire IT estate, from core datacenters to the edge.

Outcomes of using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform

Architecture

Standardize and unify IT automation

Ansible Automation Platform lets you standardize automation because it works throughout your organization, connecting users across IT domains to streamline orchestration and provide governance for a variety of use cases.

Ansible Automation Platform allows flexibility with your resources by automating provisioning for cloud providers, storage solutions, and infrastructure components. It helps make network management more consistent and expedites security patching and remediation. Use Ansible Content Collections with pre-packaged roles and modules to provision machines, apply base system configurations, and deploy apps.

Development

Automate application deployments

Developers can set up automation to provision, deploy, and manage compute infrastructure across environments. Deploy multi-tier applications reliably and consistently, all from one common framework, and configure needed services and push application artifacts using Ansible Playbooks.

Move software between testing and production environments more quickly by automating processes. This leads to repeatable and reliable deployments across the software delivery cycle, enabling DevOps and managing your CI/CD pipeline.

Operations

Deliver automated IT infrastructure

Use Ansible Automation Platform to automate infrastructure provisioning and orchestration, update and patch systems, install software, and onboard users. Create and run reusable infrastructure as code (IaC) with Ansible Playbooks that can automate more extensive workflows, such as full application deployments to production. With Red Hat Insights, get real-time job status updates and monitor and resolve issues across your infrastructure. And use automation analytics to measure business impact and understand which automation jobs are running successfully and where.

Take automation further with security vulnerability remediation, policy and governance, and content management tools that make operations more efficient.
