As the last few calendar weeks of 2011 come to a close, we wanted to take an opportunity to reflect on the past year. To recap everything Red Hat accomplished in 2011, we pulled together this graphic highlighting many of the year's biggest accomplishments.
From launching OpenShift, Red Hat's Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering, and introducing CloudForms, our solution for creating and managing Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) private and hybrid clouds, to acquiring Gluster and continuing our leadership in Linux, Java, virtualization and cloud computing, 2011 was without a doubt a banner year for Red Hat.
In May, we joined BMC Software, Eucalyptus Systems, HP, IBM and Intel to launch the Open Virtualization Alliance (OVA), an organization that today has a global membership of more than 200 companies in support of the adoption of open virtualization technologies. We launched both Fedora 15 and 16, and JBoss Application Server 7, to significant industry fanfare.
We were recognized by Forbes on its lists of "America's Fastest-Growing Tech Companies" and "Most Innovative Companies," and Investor's Business Daily on its list of "Top 10 New America Companies," and we hosted record numbers at the seventh annual Red Hat Summit and JBoss World, the Red Hat Partner Conference, the Red Hat Cloud Tour, the Red Hat Government Symposium and regional events such as the APAC and EMEA Partner Summits and the APAC Red Hat Forum.
And while we're enthusiastic about all that Red Hat accomplished in 2011, we're even more excited about what 2012 has in store. Here's to another fantastic year!
