Medifé reduces healthcare service delivery time by 92%
Medifé is a nonprofit organization in Argentina that provides affordable, comprehensive health insurance and connects customers to healthcare providers. Medifé teamed up with Red Hat to transform its legacy infrastructure and paper-based processes. Now, it can deliver new services and applications 92% faster—in months rather than years—and improved its speed to process 400% more invoices.
Our dedicated telemedicine channel is helping us build stronger connections with and between the people who matter: our customers and healthcare providers. This service has helped put us at the forefront of innovation in Argentina.
Medifé delivered 90% of its services in person or by phone using manual, paper-based administration. When the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the organization’s need to digitize customer experience and improve responsiveness, it needed to deliver services faster and improve the time it took to implement process changes.
Medifé engaged Red Hat Consulting and adopted Red Hat technologies to build a container- and microservices-based foundation for applications, monitoring, and authentication. The organization built a new telemedicine platform to get care to vulnerable people more quickly, as well as a new billing system to create faster processing times and more responsive user experiences.
Medifé used Red Hat technology and agile work approaches to deliver new applications and healthcare services 92% faster than before—in months, rather than years. Its new billing platform hosted on Red Hat OpenShift has also helped the organization’s administrative staff process 400% more invoices in the same amount of time.
